Weekly Checklists
To help with organization (and motivation!), we've included a checklist with a reward coupon for each week. Have your child brainstorm the reward they'd like to work towards (before starting each week) and you'll be amazed at how motivated they are to check off tasks on their list!Â
Word Lists
Each week begins with a targeted word list featuring words, phrases, and sentences designed to build your child’s reading skills. A QR code links to a quick 1-minute video with simple directions, and smiley faces encourage repeated reading for extra fluency practice. The lists are intentionally short and manageable so your child can practice confidently without feeling overwhelmed.
Decodable Readers
For every skill, your child will receive a decodable reader written with patterns they’ve already learned — helping them experience real reading success. Both fiction and nonfiction stories are included, along with a QR code linking to a quick book introduction. These best-selling readers have been loved by thousands of students and highly recommended by teachers.
Comprehension
AÂ comprehension questions page is also included for each decodable reader. When your child is finished reading the story, there are 3 short questions to answer. The answers can be found in the story, so this is a great way for your child to practice using the text for help! This also makes sure that your child is working on their understanding of the story.
Games
Get ready for learning that feels like play! Your child will receive four engaging games — one for each skill — including favorites like card games, board games, and hands-on activities such as stacking or flip games. Every material needed is already included in the zippered pouch, so you can simply open the box and start playing.
Spelling Practice
Each week includes a quick and effective spelling activity using the “Tap, Map, Read, and Write” method to practice six targeted words. A QR code links to simple video directions, while colorful visuals and sound boxes help your child segment sounds and spell with confidence.
